แก้ปัญหา vsphere HA Error : The number of heartbeat datastores for host is 1, which is less than required: 2

HA Error: The number of heartbeat datastores for host is 1, which is less than required: 2 (2004739)

Symptoms แถบที่ summary สีเหลืองฟ้อง

  • The datastore is not accessible by all hosts.
  • The number of shared datastores between all hosts is less than 2.
  • While implementing a vSphere High Availability (HA) configuration, you see this error on one of the ESXi 5.x hosts:

The number of heartbeat datastores for host is 1, which is less than required: 2

The number of heartbeat datastores for host is 0, which is less than required: 2

Cause

This issue occurs if there is no redundancy in shared storage to allow for datastore heartbeating. As of vSphere 5.0, vSphere HA requires a minimum of two shared datastores shared between all hosts in a cluster for proper datastore heartbeat detection to function.

Note: VMware recommends having redundancy for datastore heartbeating if vSphere HA is used.

For more information, see the Datastore Heartbeating section in the:

Resolution วิธีแก้ปัญหา

To resolve this issue, disable the HA error message.
Warning: This resolution suppresses the error which reports the configuration having insufficient heartbeat datastores.

To disable the HA error message:
  1. Log in to vCenter Server.
  2. Right-click the cluster and click Edit Settings.
  3. Click vSphere HA > Advanced Options.
  4. Under Option, add an entry for das.ignoreInsufficientHbDatastore.
  5. Under Value, type true.
  6. Click Cluster Features.
  7. De-select Turn on vSphere HA and click OK.
  8. Wait for all the hosts in the cluster to deconfigure HA, then right-click the cluster and click Edit Settings.
  9. Click Cluster Features.
  10. Click Turn on vSphere HA.
  11. Click OK
